Folder Monitor

Let's suppose that you are working on a big project with your team members and you share the same folder. It's important to know from time to time what files or folders are changed in that certain folder. Knowing this is really difficult because you may not recall the initial state of the folder. You can turn to software for this and use the Folder Monitor application. This program does exactly what its name suggests, it monitors the state of any hard disk folder, clearly showing all the modifications made to its contents. In this way, the user will be able to quickly see what files and folders are created, modified, renamed and so on.

This Windows program can be installed without problems and can be used in the same manner. Its interface has a simple graphical form and the user just needs to import the desired folder or group of folders into it, in order to start the monitoring process. After doing this and clicking on the Start Monitor button, Folder Monitor will begin scanning the folder and it will clearly state all the modifications made to it, in real time.

The list of modified files and folders can be saved as a configuration file or as a report file, which can be viewed using the program later on. Using the options window, one can select the folders that will be monitored and he can configure the program to scan only certain aspects of a monitored folder, for example, only the newly created files. Besides that, Folder Monitor can run certain actions when it detects a folder being changed, for example, sending an email to the user stating all the changes made to the folder.
